Sony - Tum Mile Movie by archanN Sony - Tum Mile Movie by archanN
Visual Art Produced for Sony Music and Vishesh Films upcoming Disaster based movie 'Tum Mile'.
Indian Movie / Bollywood

It was amazing working with the guys at Sony and Mahesh Bhatt (One of India's Finest movie makers)

They started campaigning this week, so the poster is all over the net, newspapers, t.v etc, and Im thrilled it has been received well.
Looking forward for the movie now :)

A lot of effort went into it, mostly painted from scratch, except for the city part which was basically part stock images given by sony and partly photography done, as we were not allowed to shoot the skyline of the city, it had to be completely recreated.

Hey man,

while I enjoy all of your works and find most of them really impressive, I will now take the chance to give a bit constructive critique.

I'm not sure in what extend you wanted this to be realistic, but I will simply start at the bottom:

On first sight, the water looks nicely done, however, if you look closely you can spot a few annoying repetitive parts. Additionally the surface has many light and dark areas which come off somewhat unnatural compared to the movement of the waves.

Another issue I noticed is directed to the blend of the city photos. On the one hand, the transition between the two "main" parts is off, mostly because of the high saturated blue on one of the buildings. On the other hand, the city doesn't blend perfectly with the sky. I assume this is due to the fact that the right half of the city is too bright.

The clouds in the upper part look very cool, but I must admit I dislike the painted lightning bolds, most of all because of their high saturated blue color which in my point of view really doesn't fit. Overall the piece could use a few additonal color adjustments since the mix of these tones comes of a bit random and unnatural.

I will not judge originality because it is a commissioned piece and I assume it's the client's concept.

The impact would be awesome if it wasn't for those technical issues, I stated above. So it's just three out of five, but I hope this will help you in the future, in case you ever consider to create a similar work in this style.

Cheers
kire
